Membership of the Club is open to all owners and keepers of dogs of every breed and type. No geographical restrictions apply.
An annual Membership subscription is payable on
joining the club, and thereafter, annually on 1st January.
For existing members who renew their membership before 31st January each year, a
special discounted renewal fee is charged.

Membership provides access to all the dog club activities (Training, Agility, Fly-ball, etc.) without any additional charge except for the class attendance fee.
Members are also invited to special events and social activities that may be arranged during the year.

Training Fees
For all Training Classes, including Scenting, Obedience and all Activity Classes (Agility, Fly-ball, etc) a £1 per session fee is charged, payable on the day.
Joining the Club
Puppy Classes
If you wish to join the Club for Puppy Classes, you dog should be no more than 18 weeks of age.
The youngest age is normally around 12 weeks (I.e. Approx 2 weeks after second injections or as advised by your vet)
There is no need to contact the club beforehand, just arrive any Tuesday evening between 7:00 and 7:15pm, ready to join in the class scheduled to start at 7:30.
Junior Classes
For dogs from 19 to 16 weeks of age we offer a
special Junior class at 8:30pm every Tuesday evening.
As with puppies, you can start training straight away, so come along any Tuesday
evening at approminately 8:15 to complete your membership application.
Mainstream Classes
For dogs of 6+ months, to any age, we offer our Mainstream Training
Classes.
Dogs will be expected to start in the Beginners class with potential to progress
through to Class 5.
However, if you have already attained any level of the KC Good Citized Dog Scheme, or if for any other reason you consider your dog to be ahead of the starter training the Beginners class offers, then mention this when joining and we can carry out an individual assessment to determine the calss most appropriate to your dogs ability.
You may join th club and start training at any time. However, we strongly recommend pre-attendance to our Intake Seminar that is provided on the first Sunday of every month at 10:00am.
As these are intended as informative talks to help you prepare for training your dog at NDTC we would request that you do not bring your dog into the clubhouse for the duration of the talk (approx 30mins).
Induction Seminar
Please do not bring your dog into the clubhouse for the duration of the induction talk.
The seminar will last for approximinately 30mins covering the following topics

Hints for Beginners

All Mainstream training is carried out outdoors, therefore dress appropriately for the prevailing weather conditions.

Bring with you a plentiful supply of dog treats. These should be small, thumbnail size treats that your dog will respond to. (You may wish to consider "Training Only" treats that you use just when attending classes).

Arrive 10-15 mins before your class is scheduled to begin. This provides a short period of socialization opportunity for handlers, as well as dogs.
